{"id":20613,"date":"2017-10-24T15:15:28","date_gmt":"2017-10-24T14:15:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.itakaescolapios.org\/?page_id=20613"},"modified":"2023-11-28T12:37:48","modified_gmt":"2023-11-28T11:37:48","slug":"2017-2018-el-tesoro-de-senegal","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.itakaescolapios.org\/en\/campanas\/2017-2018-el-tesoro-de-senegal\/","title":{"rendered":"2017-2018 SENEGAL\u2019S TREASURE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>https:\/\/youtu.be\/nJMpRQXyBwU<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With the solidarity campaign of this year we approached, for the first time, from the Itaka-Piarists, a broad, diverse reality that strongly calls for our solidarity: the Piarist mission in Senegal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Senegal is the first country in the African continent where the Piarists were present, back in 1963, when the first religious coming from Catalonia arrived in the Casamance region, forming the first community, making their home among the people and beginning their mission with the most disadvantaged. This initial adventure began bearing fruit over the decades, expanding through various areas of the country, as the seed of what is today an extensive Piarist presence that has numerous educational, social and pastoral works. A real treasure due to the human wealth and to the commitment of those who promote these initiatives and projects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Currently, Senegal is part of the Piarist province of West Africa, along with the Ivory Coast and the nascent Piarist foundation in another country of the region: Burkina Faso.
