[:en]On Tuesday 18th April 2022, the Piarist Scholasticate in Yaounde had a Solemn Eucharistic Celebration presided by the provincial superior, Rev. Fr. Evaristus Akem Ndi, Sch.P. This comes to mark the end of his annual canonical visit to our formation house. The liturgy which was beautifully led by the piarist scholastics in yaounde, had as focus the reception of piarist and ecclesiastical ministries.
The piarist ministries (Ministry of the Service of the Poor and Ministry of Christian Education) are centered on the Charism of the Order of the Pious Schools. The ecclesiastical ministries (Ministry of Lector and Ministry of Acolyte) are for the service of the church during Eucharistic celebration. The acolyte is instituted for service at the altar and to assist the Priest and Deacon. It is his place principally to prepare the altar and the sacred vessels and, if necessary, to distribute the Eucharist to the faithful as an extraordinary minister. In the ministry of the altar, the acolyte has his own proper functions (General Instruction of the Roman Missal 187-193), which he must carry out in person. The lector is instituted to proclaim the readings from Sacred Scripture, with the exception of the Gospel. He may also announce the intentions for the Universal Prayer and, in the absence of a psalmist, recite the Psalm between the readings. In the celebration of the Eucharist, the lector has his own proper function (General Instruction of the Roman Missal 194-198), which he himself must carry out.
In his homily, Father Provincial encouraged the brothers to work for the construction of the Piarist Province of Central Africa in particular and the Order of the Pious Schools in general through positive mind-set and lives full of testimonies of love and service. The Rector of the community, Father Paulinus Abose, Sch.P, thanked the Provincial Superior for his fatherly love and presence that his visit has blessed us with. Present for the Mass were the fomators of the scholasticate in Yaounde, and few number of Christians. The Eucharistic Banquet officially closed the canonical visit of the provincial superior. The day ended with a fraternal meal and merry making.

Le mardi 18 avril 2022, le scolasticat piariste de Yaoundé a eu une célébration eucharistique solennelle présidée par le supérieur provincial, le Rév. Evaristus Akem Ndi, Sch.P. Cela vient marquer la fin de sa visite canonique annuelle à notre maison de formation. La liturgie qui a été magnifiquement dirigée par les scolastiques piaristes à yaoundé, avait pour objectif l’accueil des ministères piaristes et ecclésiastiques.
Les ministères piaristes (Ministère du Service des Pauvres et Ministère de l’Éducation Chrétienne) sont centrés sur le Charisme de l’Ordre des Écoles Pies. Les ministères ecclésiastiques (ministère de lecteur et ministère d’acolyte) sont au service de l’église pendant la célébration eucharistique. L’acolyte est institué pour servir à l’autel et assister le prêtre et le diacre. Il lui appartient principalement de préparer l’autel et les vases sacrés et, si nécessaire, de distribuer l’Eucharistie aux fidèles en tant que ministre extraordinaire. Dans le ministère de l’autel, l’acolyte a des fonctions propres (Instruction générale du Missel romain 187-193), qu’il doit exercer en personne.
Le lecteur est institué pour proclamer les lectures de l’Ecriture Sainte, à l’exception de l’Evangile. Il peut aussi annoncer les intentions de la Prière Universelle et, en l’absence de psalmiste, réciter le Psaume entre les lectures. Dans la célébration de l’Eucharistie, le lecteur a sa propre fonction (Instruction générale du Missel romain 194-198), qu’il doit accomplir lui-même. Dans son homélie, le Père Provincial a encouragé les frères à travailler pour la construction de la Province piariste d’Afrique centrale en particulier et de l’Ordre des Écoles Pies en général à travers un état d’esprit positif et des vies pleines de témoignages d’amour et de service. Le Recteur de la communauté, le Père Paulinus Abose, Sch.P, a remercié le Supérieur provincial pour son amour paternel et sa présence dont sa visite nous a bénis. Etaient présents à la messe les fondateurs du scolasticat de Yaoundé, et quelques chrétiens en nombre. Le banquet eucharistique a clôturé officiellement la visite canonique du supérieur provincial. La journée s’est terminée par un repas fraternel et des réjouissances.
