The Social Center serves the areas designated by the municipal administration as the “São Paulo/Goiânia Microregion”, made up of the São Paulo, São Marcos, Fernão Dias, Dom Joaquim, Eymard, Pirajá, Maria Goretti, Vila Brasília, Goiânia, Alvorada,

Guanabara, São Benedito, Aarão Reis, Vila Carioca and Vila de Sá. The micro-region has a modest amount of urban facilities for education, culture, leisure and social assistance, as well as pockets of poverty, a high rate of illiteracy, child labor and drug addiction. The Center is also located in an area bordering the municipalities of Belo Horizonte and the historic city of Sabará, which makes it possible to cater for candidates from these areas.

ATTENDANCE 2023: In 2023, Itaka-Escolapios BH served 108 children and adolescents in social assistance, educational and community activities, distributed as follows:

- Childcare;

- Art and coexistence;

- Socio-professional qualification.
