[:en]The Lord’s call is a grace, a free gift; at the same time, it’s a commitment to go out and bring the Gospel. Today, January 25, 2024, at COSCABIC Bafia, Father Meya Ferdinand celebrated a Mass of thanksgiving for the gift of his vocation. It’s a gift and a burden. There is no vocation without a mission. And there can be no happiness or full self-fulfilment without offering others the new life we have found. It is only in relationship with others that each specific vocation in the Church is fully revealed with its own truth and richness. So what could be more noble than to begin this mission with a Mass of thanksgiving for the little ones. During his sermon, Father Meya (assisted by Father Léonard, Father Brandon and Brother Platine) spoke to us of conversion, as a change of life to follow Christ. He also drew our attention to the ministry of the priest as a servant of Christ who proclaims the good news that is the word of God, baptizes, celebrates marriages and blesses. It was a beautiful Eucharistic celebration. Let’s keep him in our prayers, so that the Lord may accompany him on his journey during the mission he has entrusted to him.

[:fr]L’appel du Seigneur est une grâce, un don gratuit ; il s’agit en même temps d’un engagement à partir, à sortir pour apporter l’Évangile. Aujourd’hui, 25 Janvier 2024 a eu lieu au COSCABIC de Bafia, la célébration de la messe d’action de grâce du Père Meya Ferdinand pour le don de sa vocation. C’est un don et une charge. Il n’y a pas de vocation sans mission. Et il n’y a pas de bonheur ni de pleine réalisation de soi, sans offrir aux autres la nouvelle vie que nous avons trouvée. Ce n’est que dans la relation avec les autres que chaque vocation spécifique dans l’Église se révèle pleinement avec sa vérité et sa richesse propres. Alors quoi de plus noble, que de débuter cette mission par une messe d’action de grâce les touts petits. Pendant sa prédication, le Père Meya (assisté du Père Léonard, du Père Brandon et du frère Platine) nous a parlé de la conversion, comme changement de vie pour suivre le Christ. Il a également attiré notre attention sur le ministère du prêtre comme serviteur du Christ qui annonce la bonne nouvelle qui est la parole de Dieu, baptise, célèbre des mariages et bénit. C’était une belle célébration Eucharistique. Portons-le dans nos prières afin que le Seigneur l’accompagne sur sa route durant cette mission qu’il lui a confiée.
