The biodigestor that uses the manure of pig for the production of biogas and compost of high quality was the project of end of studies of Paula Jaureguibeitia (Member of the center of pastoral juvenile of Bilbao). The biodigestor is working already in the Nazareth Centre School Farm of Bamenda in Cameroon and it will spread to other similar farms.
The project was presented to the DUBAI AWARDS, which promote the sustainability in the frame of the cooperation and the above mentioned municipality delivers prizes in the name of the UN. The jury has valued the practicability of the project, valuing his impact in the improvement of the living conditions of the farmers of Cameroon. The project despite of not receiving the first prize has been incorporated into the database of good practices of the UNO (http: // www.unhabitat.org/bp/) as a way of promoting the global exchange of learning.
