Entering Lent in Central Africa: Ash Wednesday

This Wednesday, February 14, 2024, marks the beginning of Lent in the Catholic Church. Also known as Ash Wednesday, February 14 marks the beginning of Lent with the imposition of ashes. In the schools of the Central African province, Masses were held, inviting everyone to conversion, change of behavior, prayer, sharing, penance, forgiveness and, above all, love of neighbor. In the Pious schools of Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon and Gabon, we held Eucharistic celebrations, followed by the imposition of ashes, a reminder of man’s fragility. Happy Lent to all…
