Laying of the foundation stone of the new school in Kamda, India
The Piarist Vice-Province of India recently celebrated the laying of the foundation stone of the new school it is planning to build in Kamda, India (in the state of Jharkhand).
The present school in Kamda has become too small and insufficient to meet the educational needs of the population it serves and the Pious Schools of India have planned a new school to be built on the same land as the present one, taking advantage of the available equipment.
The Bishop of Khunti, Rev. Dr. Binnay Kandulna, laid the foundation stone of the future school at 11:30 a.m. on August 13. Present were the staff of the Piarists, the children and parents who make up the educational community. The president of the municipality was also invited.
Itaka-Escolapios is actively working in the search for the necessary funding to execute the work to ensure access to quality education and the start of the works is possible thanks to a grant awarded by the City Council of Jaca, to whom we are grateful for the granting of this first aid.
Kamda, with a school and a boarding school, is one of the projects of Itaka-Escolapios in India. There is another school in Aryanad, in the state of Kerala, which is also part of the international Itaka-Escolapios network.
