The neighborhoods covered by the Itaka-Escolapios Social Center are located in Region VI of municipal planning. They are: Carapina, Esperança, Grã-Duquesa, Mª Eugênia, Monte Carmelo, Morada do Vale, N. Sra. das Graças, Sta. Efigênia, Sta. Helena and Vale Verde. These neighborhoods have a large population with a predominance of female residents and a high percentage of children and adolescents. The high rates of violence and drug addiction also affect many families, putting them in a situation of almost permanent vulnerability and social risk.

It is for the children and their families who live in these pockets of poverty that the center develops its main projects.

ATTENDANCE 2023: During 2023, Itaka-Escolapios GV served 115 children and adolescents in social assistance, educational and community activities, distributed as follows:

- Home;

- Extended Day;

- Socialization;

- Socio-professional qualification;

- Luz do Morro.
