Itaka- Escolapios is an organization created and promoted by the Piarists and their Fraternities, which has been present in Tolosa since 2007 promoting different projects.
It is worth mentioning among all the initial activities the Txantxangorri Group, germ of the current Kirikiño-Calasanz Movement, which is the project that has the greatest strength. In it, boys, girls, young people and adults from 5th grade of Primary to Fraternity grow in group during different stages: Koxkorrak, Bizkorrak, Helduak, Bidean, Catecumenate and Discernment.
Closely linked to this project is the school for educators in Tolosa. The school offers monitor and director courses to our students and external people.
Working together with Herrikide, we have the Trastevere, which provides school support and Basque immersion on a voluntary basis to the school's vulnerable students. In addition, we also promote education for social transformation, carrying out, among other actions, different campaigns to promote solidarity actions and awareness of the people around us towards the neediest people.
Finally, we have a small shelter. The last two floors of the building next to the school (former religious community) are offered as a shelter to the different Emmaus groups.
The alliance between Herrikide and the Itaka-Escolapios Foundation in Tolosa continues to update the steps of San José de Calasanz promoting evangelization and educational and social action.
