The general resource management team meets with the demarcations

The general management team of Itaka-Escolapios came up a few months ago with its objectives for the 2021-2027 period, that are in line with the objectives of the Strategic Plan of Itaka-Escolapios network for a six-year term. The team has set the following challenges for itself: to advance in the networking with all teams of the demarcations of the Itaka-Escolapios network; generate economic information in a networking model; to promote the concept of integral sustainability, not only an economic one; to contribute to the growth of the Piarist subject, paying special attention to the fraternity; and promoting the use of a transforming economy.

In line with these major objectives, the team which is currently made up of 8 people from 5 demarcations (Brazil-Bolivia, West Africa, Central Africa, Emmaus and Bethany, as well as the network managers), is currently holding meetings with all demarcations to disclose economic information from the network and start working on the budgets for the next 2022-2023 financial year. For now, it has already met with the Bolivian mission team and with the management team of Itaka-Escolapios Venezuela and will continue in the following weeks with the rest of the demarcations.

This is an amazing opportunity to share the situation and challenges that the Itaka-Escolapios network faces with the people that are responsible for the network in each place, besides of unveiling the new general team of the network which is integrated of two teams that shared common subjects: the former general management and the fundraising teams.

Important meeting in Rome

Between the 1st and 3rd of May a highly relevant meeting was held in Rome for the Itaka-Escolapios network. During these days the General Congregation of the Order and the Council of the General Fraternity met with a representation of our Board of Trustees and Executive Committee.

This is the first time that a meeting of this kind has been held. In this meeting, the Congregation and the Council, as the main holders of Itaka-Escolapios at the level of this Network, have shared their views and reflections, as well as giving guidance for the coming years, pointing out some lines of work and changes to improve our organisation. A meeting that will surely result in a lot of benefits for the new six-year period that we are starting in Itaka-Escolapios and in the Pious Schools as a whole.

The general team of resources management of the Itaka-Escolapios network, made up of 8 people from 5 different demarcations, held an important meeting today to make progress in the planning of the Itaka-Escolapios network in the coming years.

Firstly, the current situation of the network was reviewed after having overcome the most difficult economic times caused by the covid-19 pandemic and the challenges to mitigate its effects on the accounts of Itaka-Escolapios were defined. Secondly, progress has been made on a six-year plan for the team that will serve as a framework for the team itself and for all the demarcations participating in the network. And lastly, it has begun to think about the budget for 2022-2023, defining the process of drawing up realistic budgets adapted to the current situation.

This international team will meet again after Easter and will be in contact with all the network’s demarcations in order to make progress in the best management of the network’s resources.

International meeting on our Volunteers Day

This March 9, coinciding with the anniversary of the Itaka-Escolapios Foundation and our Volunteer Day, we have held a very special virtual meeting: we have met responsible and representative people of volunteering in different countries of the Itaka-Escolapios network. People have been connected from Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil, Bolivia, Spain, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, DR Congo… including the General Volunteer Team, as well as the Executive Commission of the network. During the two-hour meeting, the situation of volunteering in each place was shared, along with needs and proposals for the network, as well as some lines of joint progress. Among these, the new Framework Document of Volunteering in the Itaka-Escolapios network stands out, in the process of being prepared and which already has a draft. It has been a very emotional meeting, as well as useful to share how we are living and how to better promote our volunteering, which, as we have remembered in the meeting, is the heart of Itaka-Escolapios.
