DR Congo receives funding from the Government of Navarra for a sustainability project
The Government of Navarra has awarded the Itaka-Escolapios Foundation a grant for the project “Saint Joseph de Calasanz-Manenga: An educational center committed to sustainability and environmental education,” which will be developed in the Democratic Republic of Congo in cooperation with the Order of the Pious Schools, Peñascal Kooperatiba, and the EKI Foundation.
The objectives of this project include installing an autonomous photovoltaic system at the Saint Joseph de Calasanz educational center; incorporating a module focused on the installation and maintenance of photovoltaic systems into the secondary school's electricity workshop; and strengthening the capacities of the school's teaching and non-teaching staff.
On November 12, the first coordination meeting of the entities involved was held in order to plan the work within the framework of the project.
The EKI Foundation also visited our Saint Joseph de Calasanz school to familiarize itself with the facilities, identify logistical needs, and assess current consumption, for which a consumption meter has been left behind.
We remain excited about DREAMING CONGO, for an education for social transformation that changes the lives of children and adolescents.
