SAL Project, underway

Once again this year, young people from different parts of the provinces of Emmaus and Bethany have begun their journey in the SAL Project, the short-term international volunteer initiative promoted by Itaka-Escolapios.

This is a two-year training process, with personal accompaniment and group sessions, including a short summer stay at a Piarist presence in the South, sharing life, educational mission, and faith in community.

This year, two boys and 13 girls have started the project and are participating in training sessions, both in large groups and in smaller groups in Madrid, Valencia, and Bilbao. In these sessions, we are delving deeper into the situation of the world and questioning the concept of “development” that our societies use.

Although they do not yet know where they will be going this summer, encountering others, intercultural coexistence, and shared faith will be present at all times, opening up new questions and horizons of commitment and transformation.
