Combating genital mutilation and raising awareness about childhood cancer at the Saint Joseph Calasanz School Complex in Kinshasa
24-02-2026
A school awareness day marked both World Day Against Genital Mutilation and World Childhood Cancer Day. Divided into two groups, our students attended two simultaneous conferences: one on the fight against childhood cancer for primary school students (ages 6-11) and the other on the fight against genital mutilation for secondary school students (ages 12-16).
With the support of two medical professionals (Dr. Nicole and Dr. Frederico), the goal of each lecture was to inform our students about preventive measures, signs or indicators to watch for, the importance of necessary psychosocial protection, and medical support when needed. This awareness day is another step forward in our school's commitment to life and human dignity.
