The Gandia Office Begins Its Journey

This September 2026, we officially inaugurated the Itaka - Escolapios office in Gandia, Valencia.

With our sights set on supporting young people by promoting their education and training, we are launching our project for youth support, mentoring, and empowerment with great enthusiasm. Fr. Sch Luis Gregori, Borja Pinzón, Esther Perelló, and Pep Pla will be the coordinators of the Office.

Let us tell you a little about the origins of our story: a few years ago, Carmen Morant—a woman of deep faith and the sister of a Piarist from our region—passed away. She wished to donate her home so that the Pious Schools could continue their mission of bringing faith and culture to the most disadvantaged. The Province of Bethany made the home available to Itaka-Escolapios to enable a social project within our Presence, and as a result of dialogue and the exploration of various possibilities—while taking into account the reality faced by the most disadvantaged youth—our project took shape.

Our efforts are now focused on creating a network of volunteering and a social base that will enable different young people to pursue their educational and personal development, providing them with housing and the necessary support to achieve independence.

We count, as one would expect, on the indispensable collaboration of our Escola Pia de Gandia—the school where we were founded and where we also carry out our mission—which will enable us to build a network alongside various public and private social organizations in the area with which we will establish partnerships.

We are currently in the process of setting up and preparing this home, which requires a great deal of care and attention; therefore, we will keep you updated on our progress in the coming months.
