The Itaka-Escolapios Foundation understands leisure education as a key instrument for the integral development of the person and social transformation. Its educational approach promotes the formation of balanced individuals, committed to their environment and to values such as peace, social justice, solidarity, gender equity, equal opportunities and respect for the environment, thus fostering their autonomy and responsibility in the construction of their own lives.

In this line, the Itaka-Escolapios School of Educators (Iturralde) is a reference in the training of professionals in the field of educational leisure time in Bizkaia. It is made up of a multidisciplinary team with wide experience in socio-cultural animation, youth associations, social inclusion entities and ecclesial movements.

Recognized by the Basque Employment Service, Iturralde teaches the professionalism certificates in monitor, director and leisure time dynamizer, in addition to having the official qualification of the Department of Culture of the Basque Government since 1986, guaranteeing a quality training and adjusted to the needs of the sector.
