The meeting of the Network's driving teams in Rome comes to an end
On Friday, March 6, the second and final day of the meeting held at the General House in Rome by the main driving teams of the Itaka-Escolapios Network took place: the General Congregation and the General Council of the Fraternity met with the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee of Itaka-Escolapios to reflect on the role of the Network within the Pious Schools and the Fraternity as a whole.
After a first day in which the General Congregation, the General Council of the Fraternity, and the president of the Itaka-Escolapios Network shared their reflections on the current situation of Itaka-Escolapios, on this second day several working sessions were held, followed by moments of conversation and discussion in groups. Igor Irigoyen, General Coordinator of the Network, opened the day with an overview of the reality of Itaka-Escolapios in the 11 districts that form part of this Piarist Network. Mayte Ramírez and Constanza de las Marinas led a second session dedicated to discussing the organization of the Network, and Ander Mijangos offered a final session on the financial administration of the Network. It was a day of interesting reflections that will be included in a final communiqué that is being finalized and will be released in the coming days.
These two days were spent reviewing the path of Itaka-Escolapios, from its 25-year history to the present moment and the next steps in the construction of this Network, with a very positive assessment of the meaning of this platform of shared mission between religious and lay people. At the end, the 19 people who participated in the meeting addressed practical organizational issues for the coming months before concluding the meeting, recalling that next Saturday, March 14, the Network will celebrate the main event of its 25th anniversary [link to the anniversary page], where the commemoration of this anniversary will be resumed, this time in a more celebratory tone.
