The Income Tax Campaign Begins: Check the “Solidarity” Box and the ‘Church’ Box to Double Your Help

17-04-2026

Social organizations are joining forces once again this year, with the start of the income tax campaign, to encourage taxpayers to check the “Social Causes” box on their tax returns and make this “legendary gesture.” Along with this box, you can also check the Church box, thereby helping those in greatest need twice as much.

Something as simple and cost-free as checking those two boxes allows you to choose where a small portion of the taxes withheld from you throughout the year goes. In this way, 1.4% of taxes is allocated to social, environmental, and cooperation projects, and to the Catholic Church (0.7% for Social Solidarity and 0.7% for the Church).

In the difficult times our society is facing, exacerbated by the current context of economic and social instability, there are millions of people who, without the help of NGOs, would not be able to get by. People at risk of poverty and social exclusion, the elderly, people with disabilities, children, and young people... millions of people receive the support they need, thanks to taxpayers who check the boxes for “Social Interest Activities” and “Catholic Church” on their tax returns.
