The Akeloo Project: expressing emotions through rap

24-02-2026

Last term, the boys and girls in the Shared Classroom Program and the CADISL Amaltea II Employability Improvement Workshop (Akeloo Project) worked on rap, and music in general, as a way of expressing emotions. This was done through the DJ Rosvil workshop, part of the center's “Artequé” program, with the aim of getting young people to work as a team and learn to reflect their personal experiences in the creative process of writing a song.

During the workshop sessions, the young people learned about the origins of musical culture and the roots of hip hop, before starting to work on rhyming and contextualizing emotions through writing lyrics.

The following sessions focused on the technical aspects, choosing the type of rhythm and sound they were going to use for “rapping” and recording claps and organic sounds to create the rhythm of the instrumental.

And here you can see the final result: two songs composed and recorded by the whole group, in which they talk about respect and mental health, topics into which they have poured their emotions and their work. Here are the final videos from the workshop. Enjoy! Thank you, DJ Rosvil!
