Aluche 2025 Work Camp: A heart full of names

22-07-2025

On June 29, we once again began the Work Camp in Madrid. Seven coordinators accompanied 10 volunteers who, over the course of two weeks, dedicated themselves to serving the youngest, following in the footsteps of Calasanz. During these 10 days, the volunteers gave their best at the Urban Camp of the Aluche school, at the Pan Bendito Parish, and at the Paula Montal Camp.

In addition to their work with the children, these young people took part in training sessions that brought them closer to vulnerable realities and helped them grow as volunteers. We thank all the trainers who made this learning journey possible, filling our afternoons with new experiences that enriched us as individuals.

The experience became even more meaningful with prayer as the central focus. We are deeply grateful to the volunteers for how much they embraced this space, where we opened up and united as a group. Sharing the journey and the project, we created a small family we can always return to.

Lastly, we also thank our coordinators for their availability and dedication, always ready to listen, support, and be there for our volunteers, making this experience once again a moving and transformative one.

“At the end of the road, they will ask me:
Did you live? Did you love?
And I, without saying a word, will open my heart full of names.”
