We are opening the new Arrels project in Valencia!
We are excited to announce that this year, at the Valencia headquarters of Itaka-Escolapios, we are launching a new project called Arrels (“Roots” in Valencian). It will be located in Patraix, within the facilities of another of our initiatives, Saó.
This initiative, made possible through a collaboration agreement with the Valencia City Council for the development of early childhood prevention projects, focuses on children ages 0 to 6 and their families. It will be a new space for support, growth, and learning for young children and their parents, where they can feel heard, share experiences, and gain tools to better support their children’s holistic development through activities that involve both the kids and their mothers or fathers.
The Arrels project is aimed at families living in Patraix, Olivereta, or San Marcelino who may be experiencing social, economic, or emotional vulnerability, and who need guidance and learning opportunities around care, nutrition, play, or parenting to provide a safe environment during their babies’ early years. The project also seeks to identify and address developmental challenges at an early stage, enabling more effective intervention.
Arrels offers emotional and community support, training in respectful parenting, individual and family follow-up, spaces for self-care and health, and sensory, musical, and motor activities inspired by Montessori and Pikler approaches to strengthen the parent-child bond.
We hope that Arrels will have a long journey ahead, promoting a childhood filled with care, supported motherhood, and a conscious community.
